and in good company

Dolprop Industies AB selected to NATO programme DIANA 2025!

DIANA is the Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic, an organisation established by NATO to find and accelerate dual-use innovation capacity across the Alliance.

The project aims to strengthen security within NATO by accelerating the development of cutting-edge technology for defense and security applications. The competition was fierce – thousands of companies from the entire NATO area applied for the project with their innovations.

The selection process consisted of three phases. In the final round, 2600 companies remained, and only 75 companies were selected. In the crucial presentation phase, we had the opportunity to present our technology to a jury consisting of representatives from all NATO countries. After the presentation followed an extensive hearing of NATO experts in various technical and operational areas.

Dolprop, as one of only 10 companies in its category, managed to convince the jury and secure its place in the project, which is a significant recognition of our technical competence and height of innovation.

Swedish Energy Agency

Stability analysis of displacement hulls with fin propulsion numerical studies.

On behalf of the Swedish Energy Agency, Dolprop compiled a report that aims to investigate the possibilities of fin propulsion on large ships with implications such as reduced emissions, higher energy efficiency and a more silent sea.

Work began in May 2024 and was completed at the end of November 2024. Three-dimensional simulations were performed by blueOasis to determine the overall propulsion performance of a KCS hull, equipped with Dolprop's biomimetic propulsion.

Through numerical studies, CFD analyses in model and full scale as well as practical tests with a self-made KCS hull at scale 1:100, we have come to the following conclusion:

The movements of the fin in a dynamic sink and trim show a very low frequency and amplitude in comparison to propellers.

The biomimetic system (Fin propulsion) is a suitable alternative to marine propulsion from the perspective of energy efficiency, safety and comfort.

FMV TechDay Dec. 2024

The sound of silence

FMV TechDay - was a unique opportunity to be a part of the Swedish Armed Forces Material Agency (FMV - Försvarets materielverk) and the Swedish Armed Forces' Military Innovation Program for sustainable development. The programme aimed at the civilian market, with the potential to strengthen the future operational capabilities of the Swedish defense.

We where delighted to be invited to share our technical innovation and deepen our research in underwater accustics in comparisson fin- vs propeller propulsion.
